ORGANISERS have declared themselves delighted with the success of the 20th annual Lockington produce and handicraft show, which was held at the weekend.
A total of 424 entries were exhibited at Saturday's show in the village hall, up 124 from last year's figure.

Many of the extra entries came from youngsters at the village primary school, who were submitting entries to the show for the first time
this year.

And show committee chairman Stuart Grant said he was pleased to welcome them to the event.

"The school has a significant role in the village and it was an absolute delight to be able to include them in the show", he said.

He added that he had also been thrilled to see entries from a number of first time entrants from the village. And he thanked his colleagues on the show committee, judges, officials and volunteers, exhibitors and spectators for all their efforts to support the event.

Preparations are now set to get underway for next year's show, the 21st, which has been scheduled for Saturday July 25, 2009.
