MEMBERS of the St Mary's, Wansford and All Saints', Nafferton, churches gathered together for a Rogation Sunday service in a barn at South Cattleholmes, Wansford.
To the accompaniment of the chirruping of sparrows and the grunting of pigs, priest-in-charge the Rev Jean Artley preached about the importance of farming, as Rogation Sunday is the day in the church calendar on which crops, landworkers and work on the land are blessed.

The service, held by permission of Wansford churchwarden Margaret Buckton and her husband, Colin, concluded with a bring and share lunch. The organist for the event was John Buckton.
