Hannah Maria Pudsey
A funeral service was held at All Saints’ Church, Nafferton on Saturday February 11 for Hannah Maria Pudsey who died in the Hull Royal Infirmary on February 1. She was 24.
The service was conducted by the Rev Jean Artley and the organist was Steven Westaway.
Hannah was born with a complex heart defect. She spent all of her life receiving treatment at hospitals, locally and in Leeds and Newcastle but she always remained happy, positive and smiled through it all. On February 10, 2001 she underwent a heart transplant at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. This gave her a much better quality of life and she was always grateful to her donor for making this possible.
She went to school in Nafferton and Driffield and then went on to study Performing Arts at Yorkshire Coast College, Scarborough. She then qualified as a nursery nurse after studying at Bishop Burton College. She worked with children and young adults who had learning disabilities and she was a natural with children.
She had a great love of musical theatre and particularly Michael Ball who she met on many occasions.
She was passionate about organ donation and wanted others to have the same chance of life.
She was due to be married to Kevin on July 27 at Nafferton Church and she loved him very much.
She also leaves her mum and dad Ros and David Pudsey, brother Benjamin and his partner Gemma, her grannie Anne Pudsey and a large extended family who will all miss her very much.
