A COFFEE morning at a village hall has been hailed a great success by organisers.
The event, which was held at Burton Fleming Village Hall raised £53 to go towards the upkeep of the hall.
Village Hall Clerk, Kate Mercer who organised the event said: “We has a good turnout and raised £53 - it doesn’t sound like a lot but we normally raise about £20 - £30 at these events so it has been very successful.
“The fund raising is ongoing for general improvements to the hall.”
Burton Fleming Village Hall plays host to a number of weekly events including bowls on a Monday and Tuesday, a Zumba class on a Wednesday a playgroup organised by East Riding of Yorkshire Council every Friday. The building has also recently become host to Muston Young Farmer’s meetings and is home to a number of cycling groups in the summer months.
On Saturday March 2 Scarborough-based singing group ‘Raven’ will perform at Burton Fleming Village Hall with special guests John Hutchinson and John Watton. Tickets for this event are priced at £5 and are available from Kate Mercer.
And on Tuesday April 16 The Bad Apple Theatre Company will be performing ‘Lights out Landgirls’ at the Hall. Tickets cost £9.50 for adults and £5 for children.
