POP music with a hint of rock and a touch of modern dance is how band Breathing Space describe themselves.
They are to play the final event of the summer at Howden’s Shire Hall on Saturday June 21 at 8pm.

The band started life as a solo album project by Iain Jennings who used to play keyboard and write songs for Mostly Autumn.

He and Mostly Autumn’s backing singer Olivia Sparnenn have now joined forces to create taking in elements of Pink Floyd and Yes.

Their first album was critically acclaimed and the second, Coming Up For Air, has just been released.

Breathing Spaces are Olivia Sparnenn's on vocals, Mark Rowen on guitar, bassist Paul Teasdale, Barry Cassells on drums, Ben Jennings on synth and John Hart on saxophone and flute.

Supporting will be York based singer-songwriter, Marc Atkinson, whose first band, Xpressions, was formed in 1984 and played throughout the UK supporting acts including the Little Angels.
