Yorkshire Show's great anniversary

THE Great Yorkshire Show is all set for a fantastic three days in July when it celebrates the 150th show.
Dates for the event, at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, are Tuesday July 8 to Thursday July 10.

More than 120,000 visitors are expected to attend what is a dynamic showcase of rural life. The show is organised by the Yorkshire Agricultu
ral Society.

As ever there will be a packed programme of events with more than 8,000 animals - from bulls to bunnies - competing for the championship rosettes.

This celebratory year will have a broad mix of entertainment, attractions and of course, plenty of shopping with around the 700 or so stands selling everything from swimming pools to designer clothes.

This year's programme includes: daily fashion shows and 150 years of bridal wear; five cookery theatres showcasing regional food – including demonstrations of game recipes;international show jumping; exciting competitions; the 30m tall Great Yorkshire Show Wheel; the Great Lorenzo- a thrilling equestrian display of one man with 12 horses; the famous Black Dyke Band; the Flower Show with new small gardens feature; the Great British Pole Climbing Championships; have-a- go events from driving a digger to dry stone walling.

Ticket prices are advance: adult, £16.50; concession, £14; children, £7.50; family ticket, £44. On the gate - adult, £20; concession, £16; children, £9; family ticket, £51.

Parking is free and extensive. Please note dogs are not allowed on the showground.
