The
Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution is a grant-making charity that supports members of the farming community facing need, hardship or distress.
On Saturday 24th October the committee will welcome popular "
Singing Farmers" band members Ken Jackson and Tony Richards to Holme on Spalding Moor Village Hall.
The event, which is being billed as an "Evening of Musical Melodies" will see the duo perform to help raise funds for the RABI. Over recent years the Singing Farmers have been dedicated and popular supporters of the charity. Ken Jackson, a Blonde d'Aquitaine showman and farmer and
sheep farmer Tony Richards from the North York Moors are both original members of the group which formed to support the RABI after it assisted farmers struggling to cope with outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease.
The East Yorkshire
RABI Committee Chairman, Tom Sewell said "We are really looking forward to hearing Ken and Tony at Holme on Spalding Moor." He added "It will be a really good night, a good chance to catch up with friends after a busy harvest and drilling season." Tickets for the event are available from Tom Sewell on 01759 318318 or Sally Conner on 01964 541400. They are priced at £10 each which includes a pie and pea supper.
