LONG-standing Driffield gift shop and newsagent Sokells is up for sale.
Aspiring shopkeepers could buy themselves the well-known business, which has built a strong reputation in more than 100 years of trading.

According to the website businessesforsale.com Sokells is for sale for an asking price of £375,000.

The advert carried on the website says the Middle Street South shop has very little competition in the town and that there is scope for the buyer to further develop the business.

Sokells sells a variety of items including books, games, stationery and magazines and takes around £842,400 sales revenue per annum as advertised on the website.

It is also a stockist of the Driffield Times and its sister publication the Driffield Post.

Current owners Tom and Ann Salter did not wish to comment when contacted by the Driffield Times.
