A Scarborough GP practice is celebrating vaccinating all of its patients who are over 80.

Central Healthcare, based at Lawrence House Medical Centre, has completed the first phase of its immunisation against the disease and is ready to move onto the next.

All patients who are over 80 have now had their first jab.

The next step is making appointments for second doses for those pensioners and inviting those aged 75 and over to have their vaccinations.

Among those who had their first dose from Central Healthcare last week were husband and wife Geoffrey and Margaret Brookes - both in their 90s - and retired Central Healthcare GP, 85-year-old Ronnie Kok.

More than 3.8 million people, including the over-80s, care home residents and NHS and social care staff, have now received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.
