Local bands had local support

Well done the people of Driffield for supporting the festival at North End park on Saturday despite that awful weather.
It was so disappointing that the rain did curtail and prevent some activities. Many families came to the festival to enjoy themselves and did just that.

There was some thought of cancelling the event, but that would have proved very costly.

The local bands had local support and Driffield's young people came in large numbers, defying the elements.

As a councillor and member of the festival committee, I wish to thank all those who came to the park and to all those who worked so very hard to make the occasion a success, especially our Town Clerk and the Tidy Team.

Margaret Killin, of Deira Court, Driffield
