Karen McCluskey, member of Driffield Support Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care, writes . .
.

As a member of the Driffield Support Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care for the last four years, I was saddened to learn from Yorkshire Bank on Thursday, March 12 that some uncaring person had the audacity to take the proceeds of the collection
box from the counter of the bank.

On reporting to the rest of the group I learned that the same had happened at Johnson's Cleaners. Yorkshire Bank has CCTV and I was told by a member of the bank staff that they were going to check these and get back to us.

If anyone has any further information regarding this we would be very grateful.

On a lighter note, the street collection, held on the same day, raised the fantastic total of £839.29 which added to what was collected at Tesco over the Friday/Saturday of the last weekend in February made a total of £1,642.29.

We would like to thank the kind people of Driffield for helping us raise such a fabulous amount.

The monies raised will enable our nurses to care for terminally ill patients in the local area.

We are always looking for new members for our Driffield Support Group. We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at The Blue Bell Inn at Riverhead, Driffield, starting at 7.30pm.

If you have a couple of hours spare a month, please either come along to the meeting or contact one of our members at any of our events and you will warmly welcomed.
We also welcome any gifts or ideas for future events.
