Mrs T Martin, of Driffield, writes . . .

I don't usually write any letters to the local papers, but I feel so angry about the front page of the Driffield Post (March 13), when Symon Fraser vowed to help Driffield overcome the economic downturn.

I am too busy to write a 5,000 word essay on the local economy but I really wish I had the time then perhaps Mr Fraser could learn a few things.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Symon Fraser the one who is supporting future parking fees in Driffield? Isn't he the one who gave the green light to three major planning applications to overrun the town with supermarkets?

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how new parking fees in Driffield and the building of new supermarkets will boost the local economy.

Perhaps when I have the time I will write the essay on the local economy and may also write one on amnesia, because I am pretty sure that Mr Fraser has a severe bout!
