I AM writing regarding the Driffield Talking Newspaper which is looking for co-ordinators.
Our current co-ordinators are leaving the area and we are keen not to let our readers down.

Are you a frustrated radio producer?

Are you an organised person with time available?

Ever thought of doing voluntary work?

Driffield Talking New
spaper is a voluntary charitable organisation which simply records the news on to CDs and sends them out regularly to partially sighted people.

Your readers are in place!

Your listeners are expectant!

The main focus for the co-ordinator/s is to make sure that all activities below are carried out, with support from the team of volunteers.

Weekly tasks:

  • Compiling news

  • Engineering - a bit techie but very simple to learn

  • Collecting/sorting CD wallets

  • Copying/dispatch of CDs.

Other admin:

  • 1. Listener liaison

  • 2. Ordering and distributing publicity leaflets

  • 3. Preparing and distributing recording rotas to readers

  • 4. Ordering CDs

  • 5. Renewing insurance

  • 6. Preparing annual returns to Charity Commission (online)

  • 7. Arranging AGM, preparing reports and minutes

  • 8. Fundraising

All in all, it is showbiz with an eye for detail!
Why not email David and/or Clare with your questions and take it from there?

Do you expect the credit crunch crisis to alter before Christmas?
Yes, I think it will ease
No - I think it will get worse
I think it will be a long time before it sorts itself out
