PLANS for extensions to a house in Brandesburton have been approved by East Riding councillors, despite some local opposition.
The scheme for the property at 33 Reedsway in the village was given the go-ahead by the authority's eastern area planning sub-committee on Monday.
The proposals, submitted by applicant Mr Teal, allowed for a two-storey side extension and a single storey extension to the front of the property to be built.
Vehicle access to the site would also be altered under the plans.
The original scheme had been opposed by parish councillors and a neighbouring resident.
Concerns were raised on over-development, dominance of nearby properties and what was seen as inadequate parking provision.
But Highways officers said they had no objections after the proposals were amended.
And committee members voted to follow officers' recommendations to approve the scheme.
Officers ruled that the scheme would not have a detrimental impact on the site or neighbouring homes.
