TWO special film nights are to be held at Leven Recreation Hall, thanks to a new link with a cinema group.

Villagers are invited to go along to the two film screenings, from which any profits will go towards the upkeep of the hall.
On Friday January 23 there will be a screening of The Piano (Certificate 15), and on Friday February 27 the film will be The Bourne Ultimatum (Certificate 12A). Both films start at 7.30pm and admission is £4 on the door.

The films are being shown in a link up between Leven Recreation Hall and ArtERY Cinema, which is funded by East Riding Council, Screen Yorkshire and Awards for All.

Verity Rowland, secretary of the Leven Recreation Hall, said that more films may be shown in the hall if the two film nights prove to be popular.

"This is the first time we have used the hall as a cinema and we hope it will be a success - if it is then we will look towards doing this more often," she said.
