A UNIQUE event is to be staged at St Peter's Church in Hutton Cranswick.
Soloists will be staging a performance of Handel's Messiah at the church and organisers are encouraging new singers to take part.

The concert will feature solos by contralto Sarah Atkin, bass Stephen Burke, soprano Sandy Long and tenor Richard Pollard who will be accompanied by organist Clive Barnby and conducted by Peter Maw.

Mr Maw said: "Anyone who would like to be a member of the choir for this performance will be made most welcome as long as they are able to read music and would enjoy taking part in what is thought to be a unique event for St Peter's."

Anyone who wishes to be a member of the choir should be able to provide a copy of Messiah.

A preliminary rehearsal will be held on Saturday November 1 at 10am with further rehearsals on November 15, 22 and 29.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact Peter Maw, tel (01377) 232609.
