A BUMPER 10,000 strong crowd flocked to Beverley Racecourse on Wednesday for the popular annual Ladies Day fixture.
Flowing dresses and a wide array of hats in many different styles were the order of the day for this iconic event which, for the women, is as much about fashion as it is about betting.

People travelled from across the country to attend the event, which is widely regarded as second only to the famous Ascot event.

It was a day to see and be seen, when East Yorkshire's most fashion-conscious citizens could show they were every bit as cutting edge when it comes to clothes as their southern contemporaries.
