HUNDREDS of spectators lined the streets of Beverley to watch as the world's top cyclists came to town.
Two British Olympic gold medallists, Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas, together with bronze medallist Chris Newton, were among almost 100 elite cyclists who pedalled through Beverley yesterday during the Tour of Britain.

The cyclists were taking part in Stage 5 of the round Britain route, which took them from Hull across the Humber Bridge before returning to the East Riding and on to Dalby Forest.

The tour started in London last Sunday and ends in Liverpool on Sunday (September 17).
