BISHOP Burton College has become the first land-based institution in the UK to be awarded the Learning and Skills Council's new Training Quality Standard in full.
The award, which was launched in May this year, is a framework and an assessment and certification process which recognises and celebrates the best organisations delivering training and development solutions to employers.

The standard is split int
o two parts. Part A focuses on responsiveness and how well the whole college delivers a high-quality customer experience to employers, while part B looks at sector expertise and how well the college delivers training relevant to industry requirements.

Now that it is certificated, the college has become the first land-based institution in Great Britain to pass both parts of the Standard and be named as 'Achieved with Excellence in Environmental and Land-Based Training'.

Bishop Burton College principal Jeanette Dawson is delighted the college has been successful in its bid to become training quality standard certificated.

"The college has always delivered high-quality training to rural and allied businesses," she said. "And the launch of the college's dedicated services to business department last year means we have a team of people who are passionate about delivering great courses that meet the needs of employers, in a timeframe that suits them.

"Being awarded this standard proves that we deliver the best employer training in the land-based sector and we are incredibly proud of that."
