FIREFIGHTERS from Driffield and Bridlington tackled a major blaze at a food factory on the outskirts of the town early on Monday morning.
The crews were initially called to the Primepak site on the Kelleythorpe Industrial Estate at around 6.40am on Monday March 3.

They spent around two-and-a-half hours at the scene following a report of a fire in a refrigeration truck which was said to be well alight by the time the crews arrived.

The flames subsequently spread to an office and roof space in an adjacent building and firefighters were forced to use breathing apparatus to help tackle the fire.

A spokesman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Glenn Ramsden, said there was concern that the flames were spreading between panels within the building without being seen.

But investigations revealed the flames had not spread and there was no danger to the building.
