AN employee of a charitable trust has been charged with stealing cash in excess of £25,000 from her workplace.
Bridget Mary Elizabeth Bramhall is accused of taking money from the Burton Agnes Hall Charitable Trust between April 2003 and April this year.

There are 11 charges levelled against the 50-year-old which include theft of an employee of quantities o
f cash up to £60.

The case was heard for the first time at Bridlington Magistrates Court on Wednesday - it is likely it will eventually be heard by a judge sitting at Crown Court.

Mrs Bramhall, of Richmond Street, Bridlington, was represented by solicitor Lawrence Watts who said more time was needed to find out how much money the Crown Prosecution Service will accuse Mrs Bramhall of taking.

He explained this total was likely to be lower than the initial estimate of more than £25,000. No plea has yet been entered.

He said: “This is a complex case involving 11 charges of theft by an employee in excess of £25,000. This is likely to be decreased.”

Martin Dodgson, the magistrate presiding over the hearing, adjourned the case until October 22 to allow any amendments to the charges to be made and allowed Mrs Bramhall unconditional bail.
