ORGANISERS of the 133rd Driffield Show are celebrating after the event chalked up record attendance figures.
A crowd of 25,486 flocked to Driffield Showground on Wednesday.

A thrilled show director, David Tite, said several hundred motorists had to park in a second overflow car park because of the sheer volume of vehicles heading to the event.

And he declared: "I am absolutely ecstatic with it."

New attractions, including a spectacular demonstration by the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery and terrier dog racing, stood alongside the more traditional elements of what remains the country's largest one-day agricultural show.

It is believed that the show passed without any major incidents, although a man had to be taken to hospital after suffering a seizure.

Police at the site said they had not heard of any serious problems and had spent most of the day dealing with traffic in the area.
