TALENTED Driffield singer Edwina Hayes will be performing at a Scarborough music festival this year.
Held annually at Scarborough’s Peasholm Park, the Acoustic Gathering attracts hundreds of music lovers who flock to hear a variety of musicians perform unplugged.

The free festival, to be held on Sunday September 14, will be headlined by 3 Daft Mo
nkeys with Fame Academy star Alistair Griffin, Adrian Byron Burns, The Dog Roses and Flamenco guitarist Mark Boden also on the bill.

The Cornwall-based trio 3 Daft Monkeys, who combine rousing vocals, frenetic fiddling, rhythmical 12-string guitar, dancing bass and foot drum, have received rave reviews from BBC Radio 2.

They draw together Celtic, Balkan, Gypsy, Spanish, Cornish and other world music influences.

Festival organiser, Steve Dickinson, said: “I am very excited about Acoustic Gathering III, this year I have had over 200 enquiries to play and have had to choose just 22, a very difficult but enjoyable task.

“I believe the end product will showcase what dazzling talent this country has to offer, the 3 Daft Monkeys are an incredible headliner, Peasholm Park will have seen nothing like this before.”

On-site facilities at the festival, held from noon until 10.30pm, include catering, bar, toilets, festival stalls and a family activity area.

As dusk falls, projections will illuminate the stage.
