THE FAMILY of Calvin John Saunders, 17-years-old, who sadly died following a road traffic collision on Sunday 28 February have paid tribute to him.
Calvin, of Grimsby, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa which crashed on Yarborough Road in the early hours of Sunday.
His brother Liam, who is 16-years-old, said: "We went out together all the time and Calvin was even going to swap from doing his
Sport Science course at college to come to Franklin with me next year and study music.
"He was such a funny person and used to make me laugh so much, on Valentines Day me and my girlfriend Jess were having a meal and Calvin just pulled up a chair and wanted to join us, as he thought it would be funny. He always did things to make everyone laugh."
His brother Ben, who is 16-years-old, said: "He was so funny and he really used to make me laugh, he used to mess about and play fight me all the time."
His mother Sarah said: "Calvin was definitely a mummy's boy and he didn't care who knew it, he would get some stick from his friends but he didn't care. It was just in his nature. He always put others before himself.
"He loved his chocolate; he had such a sweet tooth. When I would come home with the shopping it was like he could smell which bag it was in and within seconds it would all be gone."
His father Dave said: "He used to ring me up and ask me what I was up to and if I had been out he would want to know that I had got home ok and would want me to just give him a call or a text to let him know.
"We had a very close relationship and I was so proud of all he had achieved, as were all of the family. He never let things get him down and we were all so supportive of his dream to go and study at Leeds University."
Liam added: "He was such an awesome lad. He was so original and quick witted. He would leave people on the floor laughing at his jokes and his impressions; he was by far the funniest person I knew."
"I have so many funny and amazing memories of Calvin. My family and I would like to say thank you to everyone for your messages of support and love that you have been sending us.
"Thank you to all the people that came on Monday to pay their respects, it was an amazing turn out and we never expected that many people to come. Thank you again for showing him the same love and support you have shown our family."
