A TOUCH of A-list glamour was brought to a Driffield wedding by a celebrity dress designer.
Victoria Charlotte Elizabeth Tankard jumped at the chance when designer to the stars, Ian Stuart, offered his services for her big day.

She was the envy of brides up and down the country when she stepped out in the vintage French-inspired dress on Saturday.

Victoria, of Southwood Park, Driffield, said the dress was a 'dream come true' and made her feel a million dollars for her wedding to sweetheart, James Nicholas Hanson.

"It's really easy to wear and it's really comfortable," she said.

"It makes me feel amazing and grow in confidence because I love it.

"It's more than my dreams and looks stunning."

Victoria, 25, who works at Ullyott and Butler in Driffield and James, 30, a reprographic designer, first met in Maverick's nightclub in Driffield around eight years ago and have been an item for four years.

Ian, who is Victoria's cousin, spent three-months crafting the dress for the wedding, which took place at All Saints' Church, Driffield, followed by a reception at Tickton Grange.

Ian's credits include designing the wedding dress Samia Smith wore in Coronation Street when her character, Maria, wed Liam.

He also appeared in the last series of popular reality show The Apprentice, when the team selling his dresses cruised to victory.

Famously hard-to-please Sir Alan Sugar even described Ian's dresses, which typically sell for around £4,000, as the 'jewel in the crown' of bridal wear.

Victoria, who had met Ian only once before he started working on the one-off dress, said they had met up in between his trips to fashion capitals Milan and Paris.

The full-length, bodice-style dress was made using blush-coloured French taffetta silk and antique French lace.

It has a bustle at the back and was worn with a train headdress.
