A St Patrick's Day celebration in Driffield has raised £153, taking the organiser, Sue Blackmun, closer to her target of £2,800 for Help The Aged.
Sue intends to raise the remainder by taking part in a bike ride on Sunday and through various other events, including a garden party.

Her eventual aim is to raise enough cash to take part in a trek of the Himalayas later this year.

Sue said the St Patrick's night, for which she served up a three-course Irish dinner, went very well and had been enjoyed by all.

She dished up a menu of potato and wheaten bread for starters, steak and Guinness stew and a boozy trifle to 32 people. She also entertained them with limericks and quizzes.

She gave her thanks to everyone who attended the event and to her support team.
