WHERE are they now is something often wondered of old school friends. Former winners of Operation Lifestyle discovered the answer when they attended a reunion marking 20 years of the scheme.
Among the winners who attended the event, held by Humberside Police, were several teams from Driffield. They included Blind Fury who won in 1993 and the Travis Turner Dream Team who won in 2003.

The Wombles of Driffield won in 1994 but were unable to attend the Lifestyle Summer Celebration Ball in Hedon.

Humberside Police estimate that during the past 20 years around 130,000 of the region's youngsters have completed more than two million hours of work on their projects.

Chief Constable, Tim Hollis, said: "This year marks the 20th anniversary of Humberside Police Lifestyle and it is a scheme which I consider to be the jewel in the crown of the force when it comes to engaging with young people.

"At a time when young people get something of a bad press, it's really heartening to be reminded of what the majority of them can do with a little encouragement and support.

"The celebration event is a great opportunity of bringing everyone together to reminisce and for us to say thank you as well as celebrating the project as a whole."
