PLANS to convert a garage to provide extra living accommodation at a Kilham house have been supported by East Riding councillors this week, subject to the completion of legal papers.
The scheme at Waterworks House on Thwing Road was deferred and delegated for approval by the council’s eastern area planning sub-committee on Monday.

As previously reported, the proposals submitted by Miss Natalie Tate allowed for the garage of the property to be converted into extra living space for a member of her family.

The scheme had been opposed by local parish councillors who argued that it would form a second dwelling on the land.

But committee members voted to follow officers’ recommendations to delay a decision to allow for legal agreements preventing a separate sale of the unit to be drawn up before final approval is given.
