The latest production being staged at the Block Theatre is A Handful Of Henna,,which tells the story of a young woman called Saheeda who comes to England as a young woman but returns home with her teenage daughter, Nasreen.
Standing outside the airport in the middle of a monsoon, neither mother or daughter realise that their visit will become much more than a holiday.

As Saheeda unravels her past, mother and daughter discover the importance of their shared heritage.

This production, by Sheffield Theatres, is inspired by original stories told by Muslim women and aims to identify universal truths and experiences which can be shared by all.

Handful of Henna, which has been a hit with audiences of all ages, is the theatre company's first small scale production to be toured nationally.

It was developed in 2006 for the main stage to launch Sheffield Children's Festival where the large amount of praise it received prompted producers to tour it nationally.

A Handful of Henna will be performed at The Block Theatre at Driffield School on Wednesday March 5 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for students and senior citizens and £16 for a family of two adults and two children.
They are available from the East Office at Driffield School, Ullyott and Butler Estate Agents, Cranswicks Estate Agents or on the door.
