Beverley Councillor Bradley Birmingham will raise the issue of dredging at a full meeting of East Riding of Yorkshire Council on Wednesday 19 February.

Following the recent extreme weather and severe flooding that has been affecting the country Cllr Birmingham will ask Council leader Stephen Parnaby for assurances that he will do all in his power to ensure the River Hull Valley is regularly maintained.

Coun Birmingham said: “Residents of East Yorkshire know all too well the devastation that can be caused by flooding. As this topic is currently at the top of the National Agenda, and the Government has promised further funding to deal with the issue, it is the perfect time for the Council to push for more to be done in our area to alleviate flood risk”

The meeting will take place at County Hall in Beverley with a start time of 2pm.
