'We were devastated when it happened': String of lights cut by vandals in Scarborough are repaired

Lights in part of Scarborough town centre are back on after they were blacked out by vandals.

The string of white beams in West Square have been repaired after they were deliberately cut before Christmas.

Scarborough Borough Councillor for Corporate Resources Janet Jefferson said; "We were all devastated when it happened. It was definitely planned."

She said CCTV operators in the area are on the alert in case someone tries to repeat the damage.
