Driffield Library’s Teen Reading Group is celebrating its first anniversary by launching a book review competition open to any local young people aged between 11 and 16.

For a chance to win a book voucher and a selection of new books, entrants simply need to write a review of their favourite (or least favourite) book and bring it into Driffield Library at Cross Hill, St John’s Road by 1 July 2014.

Gary Smith, supervisor at Driffield Library, commented:” The Teen Reading Group here is proving very popular, and is for young people aged 12-14. The members take turns to select books for the group to read, and these have included supernatural stories, mysteries, and books about sport.

“It seems appropriate to mark the first anniversary of the group with a competition, and I am looking forward to receiving lots of entries! It will be interesting to read what about what young people like – and don’t like – about particular books.”

The Teen Reading Group meets on the first Friday of every month in Driffield Library between 4 and 5 pm. It is an informal and fun social group of young people who simply enjoy reading books. The library also hosts a monthly Chatterbooks group for 8 to 11 year old children who meet on the third Friday of every month from 4pm to 5 pm.
