DRIFFIELD residents rallied together in support of the Christmas illuminations at Barry and Lesley Greenlaw’s house in Skerne Road, raising over £100 for charity.

The total raised fro Cancer research UK was £1435, which included £230 raised at Mr Greenlaw’s 60th birthday party.

Barry said: “We are both amazed that the residents still support us and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity. We are appreciative of the helpers who assist in erecting and dismantling the display, Dave Lawson, Rob and Neil Woodcock, Ian Wells, Steve Gibson and Shaun and Pete from Driffield School.

“Collection boxes have been in situ at Martin’s newsagents, Driffield Cobbler, the Trout Inn, the Mariners Arms, the Spread Eagle and in Middleton at the Robin Hood pub. We are very grateful for their kindness and support to help boost the total.”
