A planning appeal has been lodged following an East Riding of Yorkshire Council decision to refuse planning permission to build an art studio for community use on land south of 23 Mount Pleasant Road, North Frodingham.

The applicant is Ms Rachel Gaull and the application was refused because the authority felt the design of the proposed development would detract from the rural character and appearance of the area.

The proposal also conflicts with established council policies.

The appeal is to be held on the basis of an exchange of written statements by the parties and a site visit by a government inspector appointed by the secretary of state.
