A Beeford company has scooped an important national “Business of the Year” award.
Staff at the East Yorkshire firm knew they had developed something special when an eye-catching treetop walkway near Northampton, which features CB Solutions Aggredeck, received the prestigious award for a medium/large business.
Salcey Treetop Walk, completed by Forestry Civil Engineering won the British Construction Industry’s environmental award for “a delightful, useable folly and a great eco-project, which has drawn crowds of enthusiastic visitors and gives children and adults alike a completely new experience of trees and forest.”
The popularity for the revolutionary design of anti–slip decking called Aggredeck soared throughout 2012 and when the Olympic Games began in London the largest McDonald’s on the planet was built right in the middle of the Olympic Park! The capital played host to the fittest, fastest and strongest athletes in the world and the Olympic Village and its tourist attractions had to match this. CB Solutions were proud to be part of the Olympics and their product be recognised as fit for purpose for the biggest event of 2012 “The London Olympics”.
“We were delighted to win the contract to manufacture and install Aggredeck at the largest McDonalds in the world. The McDonalds was going to see millions of tourists visit it and whilst we knew from our certificate testing our product was the right product, it was a proud moment to win the contract and our product to be recognised and valued nationally.”
It was also a particularly joyous moment for CB Solutions when their product received the Royal Footprint earlier this year!
Managing Director Chris Burrell said, “I am a great believer in supporting charities and looking after our environment through recycling and limiting our carbon footprint and so we were pleased to be doing a manufacture and installation for a charity we have supported. At CB solutions we hold a social club for all the employees, the majority of the social events involve sponsored bike rides and sponsored walks. The company as a whole were particularly delighted to manufacture and supply a 200 metre long walkway for the ‘Help the Heroes’ Rehabilitation Complex at DMRC Headley Court. We were also thrilled to hear that our product was marked with the Royal footprint as Prince Charles opened the complex. It was a really pleasing moment for us all.”
For this, CB Solutions has been very deservingly recognised for its fantastic product and service and was commended with the Medium/Large Business of the Year Award at The Chamber Bridlington & Yorkshire Coast Business Awards at the Spa Bridlington on 11th October. Managing Director Chris Burrell was overwhelmed to win the category. “It is a real team effort at CB Solutions, every member of staff works to the bone and I was delighted that we won the award as the team have really worked for it. It really was a very joyous moment for us all and the result that we all sat and crossed our fingers and toes for”.
So what exactly is this fantastic product that is winning awards and being used nationally?
Aggredeck is a revolutionary design of anti-slip decking it is slip resistant and safe, it can be used in wet areas and those covered by trees, which are naturally at risk when moisture, moss and leaf residue begin to form, making it slippery underfoot. It creates a safe platform, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
It is ideal for high-use areas, such as at hotels, pubs, harbours, or retail parks, and is the perfect choice for walkways and bridges, such as that at Salcey Treetop Walk.
