Boy, 12, suffered critical injuries in motorcycle crash

A 12-year-old boy has sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision.

The incident happened at approximately 1240hrs on Saturday 28 June on Woldgate in Bridlington.

The boy was riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle when it was in collision with a silver coloured Nissan Almera.

The child was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and sustained serious head injuries as well as multiple fractures to the body.

He was taken by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough where he is in a critical but stable condition.

A three-year-old child, travelling as pillion passenger at the time, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The driver of the Nissan, a 31-year-old Bridlington man, sustained minor whiplash injuries.
