For the second time in less than twelve hours a local rescue boat has been mobilised to an emergency on one of the rivers of the busy Humber Estuary.
Barely recovered from their double rescue on the River Ouse earlier today, volunteers at Humber Rescue once again find themselves on the way to another emergency, this time on the River Trent. Crews were alerted at 1721hrs to reports of a 10 metre long vessel drifting freely on the Trent near to Burton upon Stather.
Crews have arrived on scene and have taken the boat under tow destined for Keadby Wharf.
Glenn Ramsden, Media Manager at Humber Rescue said; “This week we have been called out to separate incidents in the Rivers Humber, Ouse and Trent which illustrates the huge area that we provide front line emergency cover for. Humber Rescue have 540sq miles of responsibility on the Humber Estuary which at times keeps us on our toes.”
