VILLAGE residents got into the Christmas spirit early to raise funds for village hall improvements.

Burton Fleming Village Hall hosted a Christmas craft fair to raise money to pay from 80 new chairs, costing £3000.

The event, which was organised by the Village Hall Committee, raised £280 and saw around 100 people attend.

11 stall holders were presents from across the UK selling a range of crafts and visitors were also invited to take part in a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses - The Burton Arms, Wolds Butchers and The Wolds Way to Health Gym.

Organiser, Kate Mercer has thanked these businesses on behalf of the village hall committee along with all those who attended to support the event and the stall holders.

The Village Hall Committee organise regular whist drives and coffee mornings but have announced that unfortunately the event planned for November 24 has been rescheduled for the New Year.

Driffield Times & Post photographer, Pam Stanforth, went along to photograph the event.
