Comic book super heroes and villains at Driffield School
COMIC book superheroes and villains came to life at Driffield School during an activity day with a difference.
Pictured are some of the year seven pupils and sixth formers who took part in an all-day activity on the theme of superheroes and villains.
Guest speakers attending the event included Paul Gravett, who works as a freelance journalist, writer, publisher, Guardian newspaper contributor, and organiser of the UK's biggest comics festival Comica, and Dr Mel Gibson, of Northumbria University.
Pupils also had the chance to design and create their very own superheroes and villains using 80 larger-than-life cardboard cut-outs as well as taking part in story-boarding and character creation workshops.
Teachers also got dressed up as some of their favourite comic book heroes.
The aim of the day was for the school to take a fun and innovative approach towards delivering the personal learning and thinking skills theme of "effective participators".
