A construction worker on Bellway’s new Princess Royal Park development in Hull is digging into an investment opportunity after he decided to purchase one of the properties he is currently building.
Phil Reed (34) from Hornsea, who owns East Coast Construction, has been working on the Salthouse Road site since March 2013, securing the roads and sewers, as well as ensuring all house foundations are up to the damp course stage ahead of Bellway taking over the site.
Mr Reed from Great Hatfield was so impressed by the quality, value for money and excellent location of Princess Royal Park, he decided to invest in a three bedroom detached home, which he plans to rent out.
Commenting on the venture Phil said: “I’ve been working with Bellway on various projects for six years, so I know the company well and have total confidence in the quality of homes they build – and the site here in Hull is in a great location.”
“Plus, as it’s my company that has done the initial work I think I’m well placed in saying that this is a sound investment from the ground up!”
Bellway recently announced that prices on the first release properties on the 103 home development, which is being built on the site of the former Princess Royal Hospital, will range from £149,995 to £229,995 – all these homes are semi-detached and detached family homes.
Princess Royal Park is Bellway’s first development in Hull for close to a decade. The Wetherby-based company first made its name in the city when it redeveloped Victoria Dock during the late 1980s and 90s.
