The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been asked to improve street lighting in the Northfield Crescent area of Driffield in a bid to combat persistent vandalism.
Driffield town councillor Steve Poessl said that croiminals were repeatedly causing damage to cars parked in driveways both on the cresent and on nearby Allotment Lane.
He told colleagues during a meeting at the community centre that street lighting in the vicinity of the trouble spots was “extremely poor”
The council agreed with all in favour that ERYC should be asked to improve street lighting in the area.
They also wanted to see improved lighting on the new pathway created on the former car park at the bottom of Allotment Lane.
The clerk of Driffield Town Council was also asked to highlight the issues to the police and asked for increased patrols in areas which had suffered problems.
