Humber NHS Foundation Trust has appointed David Hill as its new Chief Executive who stepped into the role following the retirement of David Snowdon at the end of June.

This is Mr Hill’s first NHS appointment although he is no stranger to the health service having worked in partnership with NHS organisations in his previous local authority senior management and Chief Executive roles.

Mr Hill said he was grateful to the Chairman and Board for giving him the opportunity to lead the Trust into the next phase of its development.

“It’s a privilege and a very exciting one,” said David. “I have already met many of our staff and partners and know that I am joining a really strong team, committed to serving the local community.

“We will need to continue transforming ourselves to face the challenges affecting all public and health services and exploit the opportunities that being a Foundation Trust gives us.

“However, I am committed to ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest standards of patient care and safety.

“Together with my family I am really looking forward to moving to such a beautiful part of the country and I can’t wait to get started.”

Mr Hill is married to a teacher and they have three teenage children.

The family hopes to relocate to the East Riding of Yorkshire in the near future.

His predecessor David Snowdon worked with the Trust for the past six years, his many achievements include leading the organisation to attain Foundation Status and successfully transferring East Riding Community Services to the Trust.
