Drink-drive OAP’s apology

Have your say

A 79-year-old man has pleaded guilty to drink-driving after police followed his car when he left a pub.

George Willott, of Shopeth Way, Woodmansey, admitted having a couple of cans of beer at home before heading off to a pub where he had a further two pints, Beverley Magistrates’ Court heard.

Prosecuting, Thomas Ledden said police stopped Willott on Nicholson Close, off Grovehill Road, on August 1 after following his car from a nearby pub.
