Jade in grand final
DRIFFIELD'S very own dance diva, Jade Nelson, is one step closer to the chance to perform alongside top chart act Freefaller in their latest music video.
Having danced her way into the grand final of MAOAM Dance Mayhem, a national under-18 freestyle dance championship, Jade is now practicing day and night to ensure success.
Back in July, Jade, 15, was excited just to be part of the regional semi-final in Derby.
There she wowed the MAOAM Dance Mayhem judges, including UK dance champion, Terry John, with her natural rhythm, original moves and creative choreography.
If Jade is crowned the ultimate under 18 freestyle dance champion, she will not only appear in Freefaller's next video, but will win a coveted place on the books of top dance and model agency Accelerate Productions.
She will also be made over in true freestyle flava by top fashion photographer Darren Paul who has shot the likes of Busted and Girls Aloud.
A master class dance session with world dance champion Tommy Kamel and a year's supply of MAOAM are also up for grabs.
Jade said: "It seems like ages since I first auditioned - but I'm thrilled to be in the final!
"The last round was really tough, I couldn't believe it when I got through. Before I was so nervous, but I have been practising my routine every chance I get which has really helped."
Per Henerius from MAOAM said: "The contestants really impressed the judges with their freestyle dance ability.
Jade should be very pleased with herself for making it through so far and has a good chance of going all the way.
"The MAOAM Dance Mayhem heats produced some very strong performers, so we are expecting a high level of talent in the grand final.
"We at MAOAM are proud to have discovered such extraordinary skills in these young dancers."
