Mayhem with Bonzo dog classics at Howden East Yorkshire

DO you remember the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band? - well, for one night only they are heading for Howden with their unique brand of music and mayhem in tow.

Born in a distant art school past somewhere in the sixties, Three Bonzos And A Piano will be unleashing their Bonzo Dog classics with energetic zip and palaver at the Shire Hall this weekend.

Ali Baba's Camel, Hunting Tigers Out In India, Alley-Oop, Trouser Press, Speedy Gonzales, Monster Mash, Tent, Can Blue Men Sing The Whites? and many, many more will be blasting out from the hall.

Robots, smoke, unsuitable medical technology, ancient theatrical props, the kitchen sink and the audience - yes, you get to join-in, all combine to re-create the atmosphere of those formative years of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band at such legendary venues as The Tiger's Head, Catford.

The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band are Roger Ruskin Spear, on sax, clarinet, trouser press and robots, Rodney Slater, the Bonzos co-founder, on saxophone and washboard, and Sam Spoons on the drums, electric spoon and didgereedon't.

The band have also teamed up with Dave Glasson, who will play the piano, bass, pullover and glasses, to create more fun, music and subversive diversion in the spirit of the ageless band.

The band will be creating their typical diabolical mayhem at the Shire Hall, Howden on Saturday December 5.

Tickets are 15 and available from Touchwood Homecare Howden on (01430) 431535, DT's Rockshop Goole on (01405) 767282 or online via Dig Yorkshire at www.howden-live.com.
