Motorist badly hurt in Brandesburton car smash

A motorist suffered serious injuries after crashing his car into a metal sign in Brandesburton on Monday morning.

The incident happened on Catfoss Lane at around 8.40am when the car is believed to have left the road and collided with the sign.

Two fire engines from Hornsea arrived at the scene at 8.58am and crews used hydraulic cutting gear to get the man out of the car.

The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital by ambulance.
