Ater a long process of collecting people’s family recipes, putting them all together in a sensible order and doing a little bit of editing, My Mum’s Recipe Book is now available.
The book has bene compiled by Beverley’s Louise Barrett and the cover has been designed by her friend Nick Machen, of Nick Machen Design, in Beverley.
Just in time for Christmas, this is a cookery book with a difference. It will make an ideal present for anyone interested in cooking at home for their family.
Louise explained: “Earlier this year, I asked my friends and family for recipes that they have collected over the years. This soon snow balled and I received recipes from complete strangers and even some from a few famous faces! Recipes were submitted by Ruth Clemens of The Pink Whisk, Danny the Baker of GBBO fame, Samantha Cameron, Ed Balls MP, Chrissie Saunders (Slow Cooker Queen), Nicola Richardson of Alexanders Ball, Brownie Heaven.”
“The book has 82 recipes, they are all family type recipes with the exception of two, you will have to make up your own mind which two I mean! It is A4 in size with a coil spine. I went for a coil spine based on research with my cooking friends and how they like to use their cookery books.
2013 is the 10 year anniversary of my son Ellis’s birth and his death. We wanted to do something special to mark his 10th birthday and with this book I think we really have achieved that.”
