Santa has had a wonderful week riding his sleigh around Driffield.
The annual Santa pull organised by Driffield Rotary Club has been hailed a huge success and the man in red has one last treat for the town’s residents.
Shirley Williams, Santa co-ordinator for Driffield Rotary: “The weather was fine and even mild and the rain on Thursday evening managed to stop in time for his rounds so he did not get wet once.
“He was really pleased that so many of you came out to see him and wave him by – he even dropped in on a children’s party which was great fun for all and added some extra magic to the night.
“As always the Santa team has found the people of Driffield generous with their donations at this time of year and yet again our collections have set a new record of £2261.51. We would like to thank everyone who gave and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Santa was very disappointed that the bad weather prevented him from arriving in town for the turning on of the lights but he will be in town for one last time this year on Saturday 21st December.
“He will be in his grotto outside Iceland Foods between 10am- 2pm. Come and see him, receive a gift and mum gets a chance to win a Christmas hamper if she shops in store.”
Driffield Times & Post photographer, Pam Stanforth, went along to photograph the Driffield Rotary Santa team before the last leg of their journey.
