Scouts and Explorers in Driffield have set themselves a challenge to Climb to the summit of Mount Everest on Saturday 6 September.
A climbing wall will be sited in the front car park of the Driffield Methodist Church, from 9am the Scouts and Explorers will be climbing the 30ft wall continuously in teams.
Suzie Braithwaite, Assistant Scout Leader, 2nd Driffield Scouts, said: “We even have a veteran team climbing, who each have a least 25 years service in scouting, so we hope it will appeal to a wide range of ages.
We are hoping that the Driffield community spirit will reach out and help our Scouts and Explorers on their challenge by climbing the wall too (age and weight restrictions will apply). For just £2 they too can come along and climb the wall and help increase the total distance climbed. The wall will have 2 qualified instructors overseeing the day.
