The third Sensational Saturday Maker Market will be on Cross Hill car park this Saturday, June 21.
Instigated as part of the Real Driffield campaign last year, the markets have proved a phenomenal success. The markets are held on the third Saturday of the month between April and September running from 9am to 2pm, and are sponsored this year by Richardson Ford.
The market will be packed with unique fayre, including local food producers, designer makers and vintage and upcycled items, jewellery, clothing, arts and crafts.
The market will welcome back traders such as Floral Chocolates, Calico & Crafts, Brown and Blond, Wolds Cottage Kitchen, Hot Chilli Republic and Yorkshire Wold Bees, as well as newcomers such as Ox Close Traditional Fine Foods and Hamaryd Crafts.
The markets are also offering a great opportunity for Driffield based traders to sell their fares and show off their products, such as Fandangle, The Cake Ladies and Little Lovelies for You.
The Maker Markets have also provided an opportunity for some of Driffield’s high street traders to boost their profile with several local shopkeepers also have stands at the market, such as the Sugar Shack, Costellos and this Saturday we welcome new traders, Wallace & Lund, who will be bringing up their bespoke handmade furniture and accessories from their shop in Exchange Street.
Claire Binnington said ‘We have been very encouraged by both the response from traders but also the public to the first two markets in April and May and hope that even more people will venture into town to sample the vast array of stalls there will be at Cross Hill on Saturday. The atmosphere is always greatly enhanced by the Driffield Folk Festival Committee who come along and entertain us all throughout the day. We have also been very fortunate to have the success of the markets endorsed and sponsored by such a high profile business as Richardson Ford and we thank them for their support’.
The Sensational Saturday market is on Saturday June 21st 2014 from 9am to 2pm.
